Adaptive Centre

Anyone can get involved in snowsports!

The Ruapehu Adaptive Programme aims to assist anyone with a disability to get out and have fun and freedom on the snow. We’re here to give you whatever help you might need to achieve your skiing/snowboarding aspirations and to be part of our wonderful alpine environment.

Our experienced adaptive instructors provide an opportunity for all people with disabilities to experience the thrill of skiing or snowboarding and enjoy the spectacular Mt Ruapehu.

Snowsports are a fantastic way to get out on the mountain and experience everything the mountain has to offer. The program works to ensure there is virtually no limit as to who can participate in snowsports. With the right equipment and instruction anyone can enjoy the thrill of the mountain regardless of ability!

What to expect when you arrive on the hill

If you have a disabled parking pass then email us in advance and we can make the necessary arrangements with the car parking staff to get you in a disabled parking bay. When you get onto the hill for the first time make contact with the adaptive coordinator. So we can sort out lift passes, rentals and lessons. Usually, the first time on the hill will take slightly longer while we find the correct equipment for your needs as we have lots of different equipment options.
