COMPETITION RULES

Although this competition is a GS race, don’t be mistaken. The winner will not be wearing the newest gear and latest race skis. The winner will be decided on three factors:

1. Age of Equipment
2. Style, colours and size of outerwear
3. Time through the course

Equipment Handicap

1 second per year will be deducted from your race time based on the year your skis or snowboard was produced. 

Example: 1985 Burton Elite
2008 – 1985 = 22 second Handicap

Style, Colours and Size of Outerwear Handicap

One Piece Ski Suits, Varnet, Neon Icebreakers, Sun Ice and the like will contribute towards a total outerwear handicap. The scale is as follows: 

• Total Outerwear Handicap – 7 seconds 
• Partial Retro Gear – max 3 seconds 
• Full Retro Gear – max 5 seconds 
• One Size TOO small? – 1 second bonus 
• NEON? More than 3 neon colours – 1 second bonus

Outerwear will be judged at time of registration, be sure to rock up the mountain ready to race!
