The Turoa Snowsports Institute has been designed and refined by the management and training team at the Turoa Snow School over the pervious five years to provide the best blend of training and teaching experience possible.

“We put this programme together a number of years ago with three primary objectives:
- Firstly; to provide the best possible training and introduction to the industry.
- The best value for potential instructors.
- To create a programme whereby we could actively bring people through and onto our Snowschool staff for successive seasons.
The programme has been a great success in each of these areas, we believe the longer duration of 14 weeks helps to create a much better instructor, and each year we have had a number of our alumni return as full time staff members the following season. In fact in 2011 about 25% of our full time staff had come through one of our instructor training programmes. Right now our “class of 2011” are commencing their winter season in the northern hemisphere, and they’ll be returning to work with us full time next year.
Every year we get around 200 applications from qualified instructors to join our Snowschool, and we only ever have a handful of positions to fill, we know our TSI participants well from the previous year so they obviously have a headstart.
The opportunity to get a foot in the door with our snowschool is of real value to our participants and important for those who really want to become a part of the industry.”
