Backcountry Guided Trips

Our 2011 program offers Backcountry Guiding Services for intermediate to advanced skiers and riders who wish to discover untracked slopes, secret runs, and the best snow conditions Mt Ruapehu has to offer. The experience is one that can be made up of ski touring, hiking, snow science, mountaineering or downhill skiing or riding. All of which you and your guide can personalize to meet your needs.

We pride our selves on safe skiing/riding and traveling skills, education, long runs, and the desire to keep charging down the slope. If you decide to ski or ride out of bounds with us you will learn to use an avalanche transceiver and how to safely travel in a group, while skiing and riding some of the best snow of the day.

Since the inception of a Backcountry Guiding Program on Mt Ruapehu during the winter of 2007, the program has gone from strength to strength, with our premier product being Tukino Summit Plateau Traverse. We have five guides who bring a wealth of experience from around the world. Come and experience our unique world class terrain by hiring a Backcountry Guide to show you the way and teach you how to travel safely in the backcountry
