Recent snowfalls atTuroa and Whakapapa ski areas is good news for the school holidays. Happy Valley and the Alpine Meadow beginner area is loaded with snow and the base depth on the upper mountain is almost at 1 metre!
The Groomers are working 24/7, preparing the upper mountain trails and T-bars. At Whakapapa we expect the Rock Garden, Valley T-bar and limited trails on the Waterfall Express to be open for Saturday. The Waterfall T-bar will hopefully be open for Sunday. Over at Turoa it is likely the Giant Chair, Movenpick, Parklane Chair and the Winter Garden will open for Saturday, the High Noon Express is expecting to open duringr the first week of the school holidays.
