The Electric Confectionaires

Playing Mountain Mardi Gras 8:45pm 28 June

Quirky and original, The Electric Confectionaires are a four-piece from Auckland’s North Shore whose music has the feel-good factor – with an edge - of 60s and 70s influences like the Beatles, the Doors, Kinks and Funk Brothers.

When the final Confectionaire finished school at the end of 2006, the Smokefree Rockquest winners (2005) were free to head into the studio to record their debut album, ‘Sweet Tooth’ (SonyBMG) and have since garnered rave reviews.

It was a ‘rock n roll’ New Year’s Eve, when they hired a private plane to get them from their slot at Rhythm and Vines Festival to their same-day support gig for Th’ Dudes. They have also supported Evermore and The Fray, played Big Day Out and Rippon, performed at Fashion Week for Red Bull and Huffer and written the theme for the Rockquest TV show…and now hit Mardi Gras!!
