HAERE MAI KI MT RUAPEHU

Mt Ruapehu rises from the heart of New Zealand’s North Island, located in the Dual World Heritage, Tongariro National Park.

In winter we operate two ski areas - Whakapapa and Tūroa. Terrain is formed by solidified lava, making for some of the most exhilarating skiing and riding NZ has to offer.

In summer, with the maunga laid bare of its winter coat, we offer sightseeing aboard the 1.8km Sky Waka gondola, with views across the Central Plateau, and down to the unique volcanic terrain, dining at 2020m, and marked walks.

Ski or snowboard

One Season Pass to access two ski areas – Whakapapa and Tūroa – spanning 1050 hectares of varied and expansive terrain.

Day Passes to access all operating lifts and areas at your chosen ski area – Whakapapa or Tūroa.

Specific Beginner Area Passes to access dedicated learner facilities, Happy Valley (at Whakapapa) or Alpine Meadow (at Tūroa).

Weekday, Weekend Day, and ‘Anytime’ options available.

See the sights

Journey 1.8km up the northern face of Mt Ruapehu to 2020m, on the Sky Waka gondola.
The journey, both winter and summer, offers panoramic views of the volcanic landscape, out to neighbouring peaks of Mt Ngāuruhoe and Mt Tongariro, and across the central North Island. Dine at the top in the Knoll Ridge Chalet.
