  1. Available Dates. For safety reasons and due to high operational demand, RAL School pricing does not apply during July school holidays or on weekends during the winter season.

  2. Availability is limited and is on a first come first served basis. We recommend booking as far in advance to avoid disappointment via the online booking system.

  3. A minimum of 10 students per booking is required. We reserve the right to void the booking if you do not have a minimum of 10 students. If visiting with less than 10 students, you must contact us prior to making your booking.

  4. Bookings are final as of 72 hours ahead of your arrival on the mountain. Changes are unable to be made within 72 hours of your arrival including discipline (ski or snowboard) and total numbers for the group. All Schools & Groups bookings are arranged via our reservations team off-mountain. Amendments cannot be made at Turoa or Whakapapa Ski Areas.

  5. The total charge will be calculated on your booking 72 hours prior to arrival. The invoice will be charged to your School’s credit account and is required to be paid as per the term on the invoice.

  6. Any absenteeism of an individual student must be communicated to the Reservations Team before Lift Passes are issued. Unless a medical certificate is provided for a absent student you will still be charged. If your school does not arrive for the booked visit this will be counted as a ‘no show’ and charged in full.

  7. Transportation to and from the ski areas is the responsibility of the individual schools.

Safety restrictions may be placed on the road which requires 2WD vehicles (including buses) to fit chains to safely travel up and down the access roads. We strongly encourage confirming with your transportation provider that they can do this.

If you miss your visit because you cannot access the ski field due to transportation issues, the school will be counted as a no show and charges will apply.

Buses can utilise the drop off area on a short-term basis, however parking throughout the day will be at one of the designated car parks which are open to all customers.

  8. Free of charge packages will be made available to supervising adults who are in ratio of the students that are purchasing packages.

    • For every 6 student packages purchased - 1 adult package will be FOC for the accompanying adult.
    • Additional adult packages can be purchased at the same rate as students
    • Teachers/Supervisors are welcome to join in on lesson with the students if they ride or ski at a similar level.
    • Supervising adults are not eligible to join in adult group lessons as part of the package.
    • Supervision of the students remains the responsibility of the teachers and adults – not the mountain staff.
  9. If the mountain is operational, lessons will go ahead as planned. If your school decides not to visit us due to weather and the mountain is operational you will be charged in full.

  10. Your booking is for a specific Ski Area and you are unable to change the ski area within 72 hours prior to your arrival.

  11. If all facilities are closed at the ski area on the day of your visit we will do our best to accommodate you on another suitable date, or at the other ski area if possible.

    • Alternatively, we can cancel your booking (no charges would apply). All cancelations and amendments are made by the reservation team off mountain – changes are unable to be made on mountain.
    • If the school does not show up for your trip you will be charged in full.

Lessons scheduled for 1100am - you must arrive on mountain no later than 0945am to collect your lift passes and proceed through our rental process.

Check-in and rentals will be prioritised based on lesson times and availability.

  13. For safety reasons, all participating students must wear helmets which are included in the package cost.

  14. RAL ski areas do not have waterproof gloves, goggles, sunglasses or warm hats available for rent. All individuals must bring their own, or these items can be purchased from our retail stores.

  15. As per the Terms & Conditions of the rental agreement, the renter is liable for the cost of replacement if equipment is lost or stolen, and the cost to repair the equipment if damaged.

  16. Ski & Ride lessons are 1hr 50mins in duration and start at 0900am or 1100am only. Lesson times are on an ‘as available’ basis. If capacity for a time slot has been reached, we may schedule lessons at other times where available.

    • Stated times are departure times. Please ensure teachers have students organised in their groups, with equipment and ready to go at the meeting point at least fifteen minutes prior to this time.
    • Delayed departures will not affect lesson finish times.
    • In the event of late arrival to your stated lesson time because of inclement weather affecting facility opening times, we will endeavour to still provide you with a 1hr 50 min lesson.
    • Although it is our goal, we cannot guarantee the same instructor for each day of your visit.
    • Group size may be in the range of 5-15 students per instructor depending on the ability range of the wider group.
    • When an individual school only has a small number of students in a discipline or level, we will look to mix ability levels or combine students with other schools during the same time slot.
    • If any ski/snowboard group (once they have been split based on ability) has 4 students or less, the lesson may be shortened to one hour.
  17. If booking an adaptive lesson you must detail the requirements and needs of the student in the booking.
